Picking up shells is something we’ve all done. Bare feet on warm sand with soft waves washing around our ankles. The soothing sound of the ocean and the distinct smell of the beach.
One day E (I will call this special woman E) found herself on a beach where a specific shell caught her eye. She had been thinking about freedom and being free, so she decided that this shell would be her ‘freedom companion’.
We worked on a couple of ideas and concepts, making sketches and playing with shapes. After some time, the pendant found its form.
The finished pendant beautifully plays with the shell’s shape and complements the flowing movements suggested on its surface. The waves gently embrace and hold the shell.
It has been wonderful to accompany E on her journey. Her freedom is now always with her in the form of her unique pendant, ‘The Wave’.
